Abstract
Stercoral(Stercoraceous) ulcer is a rare clinical entity indicating a condition that the colonic mucosa is ulcerated by the pressure from a hard, scybalous mass that collects in the large bowel. In majority of cases. It commonly progresses to the
perforation of the intestinal wall causing fatal fecal peritonitis. In general, the lesion usually develops in the rectosigmoid colon of the elderly patients who suffer from chronic constipation or difficult bowel movement.
The authors experienced an unusual case of cecal perforation by stercoral ulceration in the cecum in a 24 year old male who had suffered from intermittent diarrhea and we present clinical features as well as pathologic anatomy of this case
together
with
a review of the literature.
